In South Africa, “Madala” is a Zulu word that means “old man”. Old women are generally referred to as “Gogo”. Old people in African communities are associated with computer illiteracy. The reason for this is because these old-timers were born long before computers became popular.
Some of these old people do want to learn basic computer skills. Others use computers at work and are fascinated by these machines. Most importantly, though, these madalas and gogos want to surf the net! If you’re one of those young at heart and want to learn a few tips on Internet safety, this blog might be of interest to you. Subscribe to this blog and receive weekly tips on how to be safe while surfing the net. Are you on Facebook yet?
