Justine Bieber has 31 million twitter follwers

Social Media:  16 Twitter Users You Should Follow

For Fun, Entertainment or Enlightenment

I have a confession to make. I envy Justin Bieber’s (@justinbieber) twitter popularity!
With 31 million followers he makes Larry King’s (@kingsthings) 2 million followers pale into insignificance!

With 15 million followers, Oprah Winfrey (@Oprah) does not even come close. Entrepreneur extraordinaire, Sir Richard Branson, (@richardbranson) is worth following also.

No less than a million people worldwide follow Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump). I am one of them.

Christiane Amanpour (@camanpour) of CNN will keep you on top of the world with news from across the globe.
The editor of City Press in South Africa, Ferial Haffajee, (@farielhaffajee) believes in Bric.

The 2nd president of Crime Stoppers International, Yusuf Abramjee (@Abramjee) is one of the people that you can’t ignore.

The father of the South African nation, Nelson Mandela (@NelsonMandela) is followed by a significant number of twitter users.
My most favourite tweeting Madala by far is none other than professor Jonathan Jansen (@JJ_UFS). His book “Letters To My Children” is the most cherished piece of literature on my bookshelf.

I may not agree with Helen Zille (@helenzille) on everything, but she is simply good at what she does. I really admire this Gogo! Controversial but insightful, that’s how I would describe the DA leader.

Jenny Crwys-Williams (@jcwLIFE) must be the most popular talk show host on Talk Radio 702. I consider it a privilege to listen to this Magogo as she tackles any topic under the sun with such panache. She deserves a medal.

Hugh Masekela (@hughmasekela). I enjoy Bra Hugh’s music to some extent. “Tanai” is one of his songs that I like.

President Barrack Obama (@BarackObama) impressed me with his victory speech. The delivery was simply superb.

I followed Max du Preez (@MaxduPreez) since his Vrye Weekblad days. During The Truth Commission and Special Assignment, Max was (and still is) a respected voice in the media.

Archbishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu studied for his matric by candlelight. His handle on twitter is: @desmond_tutu_.

The former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan (@KofiAnnan) is in the same league as Thabo Mbeki of South Africa and Chief Emeka Anyaoku of Nigeria in stature. One can never stop learning from these eminent African Statesmen.

Last but by no means least, the head of the Catholic Church; Pope Benedict XVI (@pontifex) is worth following.

These are the 16 twitter users that I am following on twitter. Who do you follow on twitter and why are you following them? If you’re not on twitter yet, you’re missing out.

Join the more than 500 million twitterers and keep those 700 engineers (employed by this social media giant) even busier.
